I know that sounds like a wierd thread name but hey I don't know what to call it. I was wondering what do you guys do to go past those times when you start to get visuals in your meditation. I just try to focus past them but they still come. They can be distracting to me I want to follow them to full fledge dreaming which serves no purpose at all for spiritual growth far as I am conern. I think the only way to get rid of them is to keep my eyes slightly open to so they won't appear at all. I know this isn't such a spiritual question but It is something that is happening for me all long time. Also how has this affected your sleep. Do any of you do forms of meditation in the morning or evening before bed. How does it effect your sleep? Thanks for listening. God BLess you ALL as you seek HIs face.
As far as how meditation impacts sleep- I have for several months been practicing the prayer of examen before I go to sleep each night. It has profoundly improved the quality of my rest and my dreams. (Makes sense- meditating on God develops trust, trust helps rest; also the last thing one is thinking on before sleep tends to be where the brain starts working in the dream cycle.)
